Disaster Contingency provided by Phoenix Link

Expect the Unexpected

When it comes to disaster preparation, many tend to think, “It will never happen to me.” After all, your company may not be in a hurricane or tornado zone, and your employees are loyal and educated on the do's and don’ts of office usage.

But loss of office / communication facilities can result from any number of factors, including: human error; power outages; smoke or fire damage; water damage or floods; hardware failures or software bugs; human-threats such as hacking or viruses and even disgruntled employees.

So how, you ask, could we possibly prepare for the unknown?

Make sure your business has a telecommunications data and voice disaster recovery plan in place, tested and ready to implement should any disaster occur. Research conducted by the Chartered management institute (CMI) in 2004 found that 48% of all businesses outages are
caused by IT and Telecoms system failures. Yet telecoms protection is often overlooked in disaster recovery planning.

Phoenix link can help provide

  • Peace of mind
  • Minimal system downtime
  • Minimal disruption to customer service
  • Improved resources utilization
  • Phoenix Link can answer your inbound calls if a disaster occurs.

We are able to provide, assuming the service has been set-up in advance, the facility to handle calls in the scenario where your building is uninhabitable and you need your inbound calls answered.

There are four levels of plan – in all cases your main inbound number is diverted to a designated forwarding number which is answered by a person and the disaster situation for your site explained.

  • Level 1 – The message is taken from the caller and then forwarded to an email address for you to process
  • Level 2 - As per Level 1 but messages (depending on profile from client) can be sent to multiple mailboxes
  • Level 3 – As per Level 2 and calls are transferred to designated telephone numbers. This could be mobile, other site, homework etc. If the expected recipient is unavailable a message is taken
  • Level 4 – As per Level 3 but with a dynamic change function whereby mailboxes and designated numbers can be changed as the situation progresses

What will you do if your broadband fails and the ISP cannot give you a fix time?

Phoenix Link has a 3G based solution that doesn't require a fixed telephone line – just power for a router.

With synchronous access speeds of up to 1.8 mbps per second our broadband backup router can be connected to your LAN in power down mode available for near instant internet access should your main internet connection fail.

For a small one off investment and a minimal fee per month we can provide you with a disaster contingency broadband backup and significant peace of mind.
